Kidney Disease…the silent killer

We were in Scotland last week filming for Kidney Research UK (KRUK) making a film highlighting an important issue which is often overlooked.

Did you know that people of South Asian descent are five times more likely to be diagnosed with Kidney Disease than any other ethnicity? A shortage of donors within the community means the likelihood of receiving a transplant is limited. This is why it’s crucial to raise awareness and highlight the need for more research.

Kidney Research UK funds innovative and cutting-edge research into the treatment and prevention of Kidney Disease. However, there is still no cure. More research is needed to find a way to stop this silent killer. More funding means more research, taking us one step closer to finding a cure.

3 million people in the UK are suffering with Kidney Disease right now. It can happen to anyone at any time, at any age.
