We are finalists!

Charity Film Awards 2019 – we are finalists!

Engage, inspire and educate. In 2012 when we set up Red Goat productions we wanted to produce engaging, inspirational and educational films for online, corporate and broadcast.  Our backgrounds in charity and health meant we were drawn to the incredible stories behind charities looking at why they are set up, whom they support and how people support them.

We specialise in filming sensitive subjects and young people, telling motivating stories with empathy, compassion and respect.  As filmmakers we pride ourselves on our collaborative skills, working with clients and professionals to create online promotional, educational case study and fundraising films.  Over the last 7 years we have been privileged to meet a wide range of people through incredible charities and film their journeys, journeys that are often emotional, challenging and unique.

One story that truly captivated us was Paige, a young person with Dravet Syndrome. Dravet syndrome is a rare and severely disabling type of epilepsy presenting in infancy, sometimes called catastrophic epilepsy.  Life for Paige and her family is incredibly difficult and unpredictable, with multiple seizures daily resulting in Paige regularly being blue-lighted into hospital.  Living with a rare disease like Dravet Syndrome can lead to families feeling scared and isolated as to what lies ahead for them and their child.   For Paige’s mum Samantha, having a charity that understands what you are going through, an organisation that exists to support families like hers is a life-line, and for her, that charity is Dravet Syndrome UK.

Dravet Syndrome UK is an independent UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet syndrome through support, education and medical research.  To celebrate DSUK’s 10th anniversary we produced a film about Paige, to give audiences an insight to life for a family with Dravet Syndrome.  This film was such a success for Dravet Syndrome UK that it was entered into the The Charity Film Awards 2019.

The Charity Film Awards celebrates the success of film in fundraising.  In the boom of social media and with increasingly lower cost of production, film and video content is now considered a key component in many charities’ marketing tool kit.

With hundreds of entries from across the country we are thrilled to have made it to the final and on Friday 26th April we will be joining Dravet Syndrome UK at the awards ceremony in London.

The Charity Film Awards have been created to celebrate the success of film in fundraising, to increase exposure of charity films and to encourage donations for good causes.  Red Goat Productions is run by passionate people who care about the films we make, and those we film. We are proud to be 2019 finalists.  Fingers crossed!
